Four years ago I quit my job to go full time on @YouTube and it's easily the best decision I've ever made for a few reasons.
I think the thing I love most about being a YouTuber is that you just never really know what's coming next.
For instance, you might stumble into a video idea that completely takes off, for me that was a video reviewing my cat, Junior, which, rather unexpectedly, somehow ended up with millions of views and made me and Junior almost Β£4,000 in the process.
You might be offered a brand deal from a brand you've always dreamed of working with because of your YouTube channel, or receive a supportive comment from a creator that you have looked up to for years.
And then there are the moments that you just don't see coming, like someone tapping you on the shoulder in the supermarket (whilst you're inspecting the apples) to tell you that they watch your YouTube channel. Experiences like this are always very heartwarming, and for me, kind of serve as living proof for the sense of community and connection that in my experience, is just so much more apparent on YouTube than on other platforms.
There's just something incredibly fulfilling about the endless possibilities YouTube gives you to grow, succeed, connect, and surprise yourself, so, if you have an idea for a channel, I think you should go for it because you might just end up where you want to be!
