LEGO Technic RC Submarine Mk II - Build and Test
Project Submarine Mk II
It's been almost four years since I built my first generation submarine so it's time to upgrade the design and make it better. My Mk II sub features a new sexier design that resembles a spaceship, dual horizontal thrusters that control the sub's forward/backward motion and turning, and dual vertical thrusters used to control the sub's pitch angle. The ballast weights sit in a much lower position than in Mk I, with some weights sitting in the sealed compartment of the sub, and some in a central "spine" situated on its underside, to achieve a low center of gravity for better stability.
I hope you enjoy the video as much as I enjoyed designing, building, and testing the sub!
Submarine Mk II specs :
Horizontal thrusters : 2x LEGO power functions L motors
Vertical thrusters : 2x LEGO power functions XL motors
Control : 1x BuWizz 2.0
Remote Controller : Google Pixel 6a
Footage was shot on Google Pixel 6a smartphone (build process), DJI Action 2 (onboard), LG G6 smartphone (tripod sea trial shots), and DJI Mavic Mini drone (aerial shots).
