LEGO Coast Guard Rescue Boat - Build and Motorization
Chapters
A new boat has been released for 2026, and it's time to motorize it! The 2026 Coast Guard Rescue Boat (set 60504), a medium-sized (for an official set), beautifully designed, and stable boat, is becoming one of my favourites! In this video, you will witness the basic build process of the boat, the conversion to make it fully RC with a range of a few meters (or feet), and finally, the sea trials in the calm waters of a marina in Athens, Greece. The captain, crew, and dog of the boat await you! The helicopter and inflatable boat were dismissed during sea trials for their own safety...
I'm still waiting for a boat with a few cats on board...
To motorize the boat, I used :
Engines : 2x LEGO Power Functions L motors
Battery and controller : 1x BuWizz 2.0 (weight savings)
Remote Controller : Google Pixel 6a cellphone
I hope you enjoy sailing with the captain, crew and dog (still no cats) of the Coast Guard Rescue Boat as much as I enjoyed filming and controlling it!

Footage was shot on DJI Action 2 (Deck shots), LG G6 smartphone (various gimbal shots), DJI Mini 4K (aerial shots), and my Google Pixel 6a smartphone (and building process shots).
As a tripod and to stabilize my Google Pixel 6a and LG G6 I used a Zhiyun Smooth Q3 gimbal.
