Many of you have asked for a tutorial on how to turn your LEGO boats (and builds in general) into fully RC vehicles (because IR and Bluetooth range suck). So, there you go! For the tutorial I modified my Arctic Explorer Ship (set 60368) by removing around 350 grams of bricks to accommodate for the weight of two BuWizz motors, battery, electronics and onboard camera. I finally rebuilt it as a fast and powerful chase boat that will be used in a future project to chase something (classified) that will be potentially much faster and capture epic footage from the deck mounted camera. To motorize the boat, I used : Engines : 2x BuWizz motors Propellers pivot : 1x RC servo motor Battery : 3-cell LiPo Remote Controller : FlySky FS-i6 with 6-channel receiver Electronic Speed Control (ESC) : Hobbywing Quicrun 1060 I hope you enjoy sailing with the captain and crew of my Chase Boat as much as I enjoyed filming and controlling it! -- Video Chapters -- Footage was shot on DJI Action 2 (deck shots), DJI Mini 4K (aerial shots), and my Google Pixel 6a smartphone (tripod and building process shots). As a tripod and to stabilize my Pixel 6a I used a Zhiyun Smooth Q3 gimbal.
