This Nintendo documentary details the history of Nintendo that goes all the way back to 1889. These days, Nintendo is practically synonymous with video games. It’s home to some of the most iconic characters in gaming history, like Mario, Donkey Kong and Kirby, and it’s built innovative consoles that have defined generations. But long before it revolutionized the gaming industry, Nintendo went on a wild and bizarre journey. For nearly a century, the company kept reinventing itself through surprising ventures, ranging from handmade playing cards and quirky toys to unexpected businesses like allegedly running a love hotel, operating a taxi service, and even selling instant rice. Behind these unexpected business decisions, intense family drama and power struggles further shaped Nintendo’s turbulent history. This video shows the story of how a small company from Japan became one of the most beloved brands in entertainment history.
