The Reality of Funding VanLife – 7 Years, 12 Jobs
From dream job to vagabond 🚐✨ In this video I spill the truth about how I’ve actually funded 7 years of van life — and nope, it wasn’t through a trust fund, passive income, or crypto millions. Instead, I’ve worked 12 different jobs across New Zealand and Australia (plus a few volunteering gigs for good measure). Some were fun, some were absolute hell, but all of them paid for the adventures that keep me on the road.
💡 If you’ve ever wondered: “How do vanlifers afford this lifestyle?” — this video is for you. I share my real journey from a well paid airline job, to pruning kiwifruit, packing mangoes, driving trucks, working in a nickel mine, and everything in between. Van life isn’t free, but it IS possible if you’re flexible, willing to hustle, and okay with an unconventional CV.
👉 Stick around till the end for some honest insights into the cost of freedom, the guilt of leaving jobs, and why I wouldn’t trade this lifestyle for anything.
