After leaving Tonga, I’m finally making my way back to Australia… although it turns out getting home is going to take a little longer than expected!
My journey takes me through New Zealand, where I get to spend some time with one of my best friends, Misha, collect my long-lost baritone ukulele, eat all the feijoas I can find, explore beautiful Kaikoura and somehow survive New Zealand winter. 😂
Then it’s back to Perth and back to my little home on wheels. I build some much-needed shelves in the van, visit Costco for the first time, go to see a whale carcass on Perth’s City Beach, catch up with friends and start looking for my next mining job.
I’m hoping to get back into a FIFO-style roster so I can have those lovely long stretches of time off for travelling and vanlife… although I’m not entirely sure how I’m going to survive two weeks underground! 😅
