I found this fascinating tradition outside a shrine in Pakistan. For just Rs. 100 PKR (about 36ยข), a trained parrot is released from its cage to choose a fortune from a stack of cards. Each card contains a different message, blessing, or prediction, and the fortune teller interprets it before giving you the card to keep. This tradition has been around in Pakistan and India for generations and is still found outside some shrines, temples, and busy markets. Whether you see it as a bit of fun, folklore, or something more spiritual, it's a unique part of the region's street culture. My fortune said that, by Allah's command, I'd have wealth and children. Well, my beautiful baby girl has already arrived... now I'm just waiting for the wealth! Have you ever seen a fortune-telling parrot before? Would you try it?
