The crumbling relationship between an influencer mother and her neglected daughter finds an unexpected remedy in DreamLink, a revolutionary app merging dreams and reality that promises to connect them with the person they need most. Beyond just filmmaking training, we created an immersive space where young people from diverse backgrounds could transform their lived experiences into a story. Over six months, eleven students explored their own lives through storytelling exercises, conversations and filmmaking workshops. Themes of online connection, fractured family relationships, loneliness, mental health and the pressure of social media began to surface. Those shared experiences became the emotional foundation of Dreamlink. Dreamlink is about a teenager searching for connection through technology, but it is also about something larger: what happens when young people who are rarely handed the mic are trusted to tell the truth. 🎞️ About the Film: Writer/Director/Producer - Kalani Gacon Writer/Producer - Helena Zadro-Jones Producer - Riley Saxton DOP - Michael Steele Production Design - Ana Maria Carrizales Costume Design - Anna Gardiner Editor - Kris Rowe Sound Design - Andrew Bellety Cast: Chloe Engels Ebony Nave Eva Chen Liliana De La Rosa Connect with DUST: Website 🌐: http://www.watchdust.com Follow Us on Facebook 👍: https://www.facebook.com/watchdust/ Follow Us on Instagram 📷: https://www.instagram.com/watchdust/ Follow us on TikTok 📱: https://www.tiktok.com/@watch_dust #DUST #scifi #shortfilm Submit Your Short Film: https://filmfreeway.com/alterdustsubmissions NOTE: Only completed shorts will be considered.
