Today we ask a fascinating question: how do wolves perceive humans when it comes to gender? Do wolves recognise genders & identities that believe themselves to not be biological male and female? How do hormones, scent, voice, body language, and movement influence how a wolf responds to a transgender man or a cross-dressing man?
Using behavioural science, ethology, and what we know about the wolf’s extraordinary sense of smell and social communication, we explore what wolves actually respond to — and why their reactions are rooted in biology, not human social labels.
This episode separates myth from science and looks at the world through a wolf’s senses.
If you are of an identity that is not biological male or female and would like to take part in an Animal Watch episode where you meet wolves and put it to the test, please contact us [email protected]
This follows on from our previous very popular episode 'Why do Wolves hate Men and not women?'
