THE LAST 'WOLF KILLER' OF IRELAND - THE IRISH WOLFHOUND

The Irish Wolfhound is famous for being the breed that annihilated Ireland's Last Wolf on Mount Leinster in 1786. A pack tracked down a lone wolf who had been worrying sheep and was killed. Thus ending the wolves of Ireland forever. Today we fly to Dublin Ireland to meet with a giant pack of Irish Wolfhounds belonging to The Wolfhound Experience. We learn their story as we walk the streets of Dublin, drink a Guinness at Temple Bar, visit Malahide Castle, the iconic gates of the Guinness Storehouse and Mount Leinster itself where the last wolf was dispatched. The 'Old' Irish Wolfhound was fast, merciless and effective but disappeared into virtual extinction as guns became a viable replacement for dogs. However, all was not lost as the 'New' Irish Wolfhound was created in a bid to save the Wolfhound once and for all. But is this reincarnation the same as the old wolfhound?
