Beating Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 definitely had me in my feels. This phrase is the heartbeat of GOATstave’s story, and while this video is a tribute to his character, it also brought to mind two other protagonists who left their mark on my gaming life: Jin Sakai in Ghost of Tsushima and Wander in Shadow of the Colossus.
All three sacrificed something different - Gustave his future, Jin his identity, Wander his humanity… but each shows how sacrifice out of love can demand more from you than you ever thought you had to give.
If you’ve ever rolled credits on a game and just… stared at the screen for a while, you’ll get it. 😔
