How Corn Syrup Ended Up in American Coke

For years, people have been debating the ingredients in American and Canadian Coca-Cola. Unlike in Mexico and most other countries, Coke here isn’t made with real sugar but with something called high-fructose corn syrup. After an intervention by Donald Trump, that’s supposedly about to change — at least in the U.S. But how did this sweetener end up in Coca-Cola in the first place? Turns out, there’s a fascinating story behind it — one that most people have never heard. In this video, I’ll tell you that story.
