This Mistake Cost Her ₹4,500 in India
My wife was locked out of an apartment in Bengaluru and needed to get to the airport. When the locksmith realised she was in a hurry, he quoted her ₹4,500 to open the door.
The lesson? Be careful about telling people you're desperate or in a rush. Someone may use that urgency to charge you far more than they normally would.
If you're travelling in India and something goes wrong, try to stay calm, don't reveal how urgently you need the service, and ask for the price before agreeing to anything. If possible, compare prices or ask someone you trust for a recommendation.
Have you ever been charged an outrageous price because someone knew you were in a hurry?
