'Snowfield Island' Original Orchestral Snowy Area Theme by sheddy 【COMMISSION】

This piece was commissioned by Sparkfire! They approached me asking for a VGM-style location theme for their blizzarding island setting. "Snowfield Island is an isolated northern location, adorned with ancient ruins and occasionally struck by violent blizzards. Snowfield also houses a passage to Lugia’s domain, and is enshrouded in a veil of mystery." I had a great time working on this commission, especially since I had the chance to use some grand orchestral sounds to give off that adventurous vibe. I really wanted to express the cold emptiness of the location in the piano and bells, as well as referencing the island's ruins and overall mysterious feeling in the shanai-like instrument. There's also a very small reference to Lugia's song in the repeated piano motif, not big enough to notice but nonetheless something I consciously included. I also do think the melody writing in this piece is some of my strongest, so I'm pretty stoked with how this turned out!
