'asterisk' The Lament of Falling Stars (2nd Remix) - Pokémon OR/AS 【hyquo 10TH ANNIVERSARY SPECIAL】

hey everyone! can you believe it's been TEN years since i first started uploading to this channel??? i definitely cannot....aaaaaaa where did the time go.........anyways! to CELEBRATE my tenth year here, i of course felt it appropriate to go back to the subject of my first upload -- "The Lament of Falling Stars"! it's a beautiful theme as with zinnia's other themes that i've tackled a few times already, so what's one more go around! it was really fun going back to this theme after all this time, with newfound sounds, skills, and style! i do honestly cringe a little when listening back to my work from back in the day, it seems so bizarre to me now that anyone even bothered to stay to listen ahaha. i took a few different approaches this time -- taking more liberties with the melody and chords, and a sleeker sound inspired by uk garage/house. i still made sure to have plenty of references to my first remix of it, namely the use of the saxophone, and some borrowed melodic material in the middle sections. as beautiful as the original theme is, it is quite short, so filling it out to song length proved challenging as it did the first time. it was nice to have some of my old work to lean back on when i was stuck on it, as well as the repertoire of compositional and production skills i've accumulated over the years of course! i hope those of you who have stuck around long-term can appreciate the little details along with the big picture :3 thanks for the ongoing support as always and as much as ever! it's a huge accomplishment to have reached ten years doing anything, and while i've not been the most consistent throughout all of it, i hope you've all enjoyed the ten years i've been making music here as much as i have! i have been on a mental health break as i have been facing some tough times recently but i'm aiming to kick it back into gear soon so please stay tuned if you please!
