This restoration was on a unique 1930s sprinkler made by White Showers Inc. of Detroit, Michigan, USA. Old advertisements claimed it could spray water 50 ft and cover an area of 2500 sqft. Most of this tool was made of brass, but some of the steel components were painted. The original colours are unknown as I can only find other photos online that show a spectrum of different colour options and no mention of what they would have originally been in the advertisements. The articulating spraying motion is powered entirely through water pressure. You can read about that specific mechanism in the patent here: https://patents.google.com/patent/US1751640 Multiple parts needed to be brazed back together as well as completely remade. I also chose to lap all the valve components like they were engine valves to ensure the best performance. Naturally, I also replaced some steel parts with brass because steel and water do not play nice together over time. In the end the sprinkler works amazingly well and is currently in use in my personal garden. I'd like to thank @CRCAutoUS for sponsoring this video. I've switched to a food-grade penetrating oil from them as a more safe alternative, and it as worked just as well as the usual penetrating oils I've used.
