In 1940, while neutral Ireland fought to stay out of World War II, Germany prepared a top-secret 5-volume invasion manual code-named Operation Green. Complete with detailed coastal maps, town photos, local garage addresses, and blueprints for Ireland’s main power plant, the plan aimed to transform the neutral island into a backdoor to conquer Great Britain. In this video we try to uncover the secret files behind their planned invasion of Ireland and how Irish military intelligence discovered the threat. Discover how close Ireland came to becoming a WWII battlefield and how this secret operation could have reshaped the Battle of the Atlantic.
