Hello Today I bring you a clip with the restoration of a 100-year-old knife .The knife is made by a friend's grandfather before World War II .The blade has been severely damaged over time, However, the handle was intact because it is made of solid bronze .Fixed with copper rivets . I removed the copper rivets, drilling them with a drill , then I used a thorn to force them out . I hardly removed the blade from the handle, because the rust fixed it quite well , Then I sandblasted it to remove the thick layer of rust . The blade was in an advanced state of disrepair, so I was unable to correct it , But I was able to listen to it correctly, applying a layer of ferric chloride to prevent the reappearance of rust. The handle was something to be corrected, I tried to keep as much of it as possible, but I knew this would be impossible.I removed the threaded part and decided to replace it with a rare piece of walnut wood .I finally decided to fix them with epoxy resin and bronze rivets . After which I polished the bronze part until it became a mirror . It is the maximum that I managed to save from this personal project made by a simple man .
