Two years ago, Unity’s future felt pretty uncertain. After the runtime fee disaster and a major loss of trust, a lot of us weren’t sure where the engine—or the company—was heading.
This year, thanks to the Unity Insider program, I attended Unite 2025 in Barcelona to see how things have changed under new leadership… and honestly, I left feeling more optimistic than I expected.
In this video, I break down my main takeaways from Unite 2025:

• Key improvements coming to Unity 6.x
• The shift toward Core CLR and what it unlocks
• The plan to unify the render pipelines

It wasn’t a flashy event—and that’s actually what made it encouraging. For the first time in a while, Unity seems focused on steady, meaningful improvements to the core engine rather than chasing big resets or shiny features.
