Resident Evil 3 - 32:9 Showcase | Ultrawide + FOV Fix & Door Stuck Workaround

Resident Evil 3 doesn't really support 32:9 natively as the field of view is significantly decreased while playing in that aspect ratio - however, you can apply the same hex edit fov fix that's already out there for Resident Evil 2 including the removal of the vignette effect, but there's a game-breaking bug that happens where you can't interact with doors or trigger scripted events to progress further in the game, so you'll have to do an additional step. That step is to use RE Framework, which includes the first-person mod for both Resident Evil 2 and Resident Evil 3; You don't have to play in first-person however. NOTE: There's now a different and easier approach to this fix which requires the use of an application called Flawless Widescreen. It requires a plugin for Flawless Widescreen made by Helifax@WSGF. You can download Flawless Widescreen from here: https://www.flawlesswidescreen.org/ and the plugin here: https://bit.ly/3aOxs5F (PCGamingWiki) The instructions underneath can be considered redundant as Flawless Widescreen with Helifax's plugin is available making it much easier to fix, but I'll leave the old method in here if for some reason Flawless Widescreen doesn't work for you. You'll need a hex-editing application such as HxD which is what I used - it's free and can be downloaded from here: https://bit.ly/3aJnxhV After you've installed the application, start it up and drag and drop RE3.exe into the program's window. Press CTRL+F and press the Hex-string tab and search for: FD FF A7 3F 00 00 00 00 replace with: FD FF A7 40 00 00 00 00 by highlighting the marked area, right-click and press paste-write, it'll turn red as it needs saving in order to apply, so press CTRL+S to save. If you'd like to remove the vignette do the same but search for this: 8B 87 3C 01 00 00 89 83 DC 00 00 00 and replace with: 31 C0 90 90 90 90 89 83 DC 00 00 00 CTRL+S to save.
