I wanted to play a game similar to Resident Evil 4 and the closest I got to was The Evil Within. It used to run terribly back when it first launched and is powered by the STEM engine which is based off of IdTech.
The game doesn't support ultrawide natively but can be easily fixed with a third-party application called Flawless Widescreen. The game also performs way better now with the RTX 3090.
Timestamps:
Only thing you need to do is download Flawless Widescreen and run it before startup and enable the plugin when you're in-game. If it stretches just press ALT + Enter to enter windowed and once more to get back to fullscreen; doing that should fix the issue.
Download Flawless Widescreen from here: https://www.flawlesswidescreen.org
To unlock the framerate all you have to do is to right-click your game in your steam library and click on 'General'. At the bottom of that there should be something called Launch Options, in that field copy and paste these commands: +r_swapinterval 0 +com_allowconsole 1
(Disables V-Sync) (Enable Console 'INSERT' key)
