Halo 3 is soon finally a part of the Master Chief Collection on PC, and I'm happy to say that it supports ultrawide just fine for the most part.
Note: This is an insider build and doesn't represent the final product.
The issues you see are already mostly known and I'm sure a good amount will be fixed before the official release.
The helmet UI is currently stretched when you anchor the UI to the center of the screen.
Cortana visions are also squished in ultrawide, other than that I haven't noticed any issues related to ultrawide so far.
