When you zoom into a CPU, SoC, or any microchip in general, you'll find a nanoscopic sea of transistors, each just a few nanometers wide, grouped into logic gates called standard cells. To wire a full processor together, it takes 18 stacked layers upon layers of intricate wiring with the transistors at the bottom and then progressively larger wires up top β€” all connected vertically by vias. Watch the full video to see how it all fits together. πŸ”¬https://youtu.be/_Pqfjer8-O4 #semiconductors #chips #engineering #howitworks #technology #smartphone #transistors #computerscience
