The Chittagong Ship Breaking Yards in Bangladesh are among the largest ship recycling sites in the world. Along the coast near Chittagong, hundreds of old cargo ships, tankers, and vessels are dismantled by hand. The industry supplies a significant portion of the country’s steel and provides jobs for thousands of workers, but it is also widely known for its dangerous working conditions and environmental impact. In this video, I’m heading there to see it with my own eyes. Filmed in February 2026.
