This is part one of the Falcon Punch series of effects I will be putting out for you guys to learn how to make. I try to go over all the important details and discuss the main ideas and principles behind the effects.
I'm throwing it out there now that I will do everything I can from now on to try and get a new tutorial to you guys every Tuesday. We can call it Epictorial Tuesday or something. I will also be posting normal videos too though. I haven't decided if when they come out if I'll just replace a tuesday's tutorial with a video, or make another day video day. Like I said, I'm not sure yet.
But anyway.
This is the 9th after effects tutorial I've made and it was by far the most problematic for some reason. So many things kept going wrong haha. I had one failed attempt that I abandoned halfway through it, then I had After Effects crash on me during the recording (as you can see in the tutorial, it's still there haha), then the screen capture software kept crashing every time it would "finish" rendering to a usable file, making the file nonexistent and 2 hours wasted. Happened twice. Haha I mean, seriously?! Then I finally got the file, and edited the final video together in premiere, then rendered out a 2GB file that was terrible quality and unusable, so then I rendered it in After Effects and an hour in to that render I realized LOTS of things were broken with the edit, so I had to cancel and go back and fix, then render again.
Haha wow. I don't usually complain about this stuff, and this usually goes way more smoothly. But every now and then, a day like today happens where everything that is normally so trivial and scripted just doesn't seem to work. I wanted to have this uploaded by about noon today. I managed to get i up by 9pm (well, it's still uploading/processing). I stayed up all night working on it. Managed to sleep between 2-4 while it rendered (and failed).
