Filmed within the Sian Ka’an Biosphere Reserve in #tulum, Mexico, BALAM HA is devoted to water as a living, conscious force - a journey among cenotes, mangroves, underground rivers, and ocean currents that form one of the most vital ecosystems on Earth.
In Mayan cosmology, these waters are gateways. In the body, they are memory. In sound, they become frequency. BALAM HA is not a performance. It is an offering.
This live set opens an ongoing series of live set film by SOMOS Collective - an art & cultural movement cultivating positive change & collective evolution through sound, vision, & human connection.

Tracklist & Notes:
ō’ō | the calling
The opening prayer - inspired by the song of an extinct Hawaiian bird - invites stillness & listening. A quiet reminder that attention is an act of care, & that worlds can fade when unheard.
kinich ahau
As the sun rises, perspective widens. Named after the Mayan god of the sun, patron of music & poetry, this chapter reveals the interconnectedness of land, water, & life. Music becomes a language of remembrance.
night sun
With sunset, the energy turns inward. In Mayan cosmology, the sun transforms into the black jaguar at night, guardian of cenotes & unseen realms. The threshold is crossed. The descent begins.
xib’alb’a
The underworld. The hidden realm. A sacred mirror. Like diving into deep water, this chapter invites meeting the shadow without fear. What is unseen becomes known. What is fragmented begins to integrate.
moksha
Liberation through surrender. Having traveled the depths, the soul rises again. Breath returns. Light reappears. Wisdom gathered below is carried back toward the surface.
yemayá
Mother of the waters. Womb of creation. The return to source. As all rivers meet the ocean, separation dissolves. The journey ends in the embrace of the mother.
