Junji Ito's Amigara Fault & the Horror of Compulsion | Monsters of the Week

#JunjiIto #AmigaraFault #MonstersOfTheWeek "The Enigma of Amigara Fault" is one of Junji Ito's best renowned and beloved short stories and for good reason. In very few, beautifully illustrated pages, it tells a tale that is haunting yet uncannily relatable. This video essay attempts to let the story come to life and investigates the psychological and sociological themes behind this eerie tale about a hole in a wall that's been made for you whose beckoning you are physically unable to resist. Even if it kills you. __ To support my channel, consider joining my Patreon! http://ragnarrox.com/patreon/ Facebook: http://facebook.ragnarrox.com/ Twitter: http://twitter.ragnarrox.com/ Steam: http://steam.ragnarrox.com/ The original comic is available in this hardcover collection of Junji Ito's Gyo: https://www.amazon.com/Gyo-2-Deluxe-Junji-Ito/dp/1421579154 Credits __ Writing & Research - Michael Saba - youtube.com/akhorahilis Yoshida (Voice) - Noa Elisabeth Smith - youtube.com/CritiqueQuestGames Owaki (Voice) - Dave Soltura - facebook.com/davesoltura/ Featured Music Tracks __ Ghosts II - 18 - Nine Inch Nails A Warm Place (cover) - Written by Trent Reznor, performed by Ragnar Ulricson All other tracks produced by Ragnar Ulricson Sampled Excerpts of Music Tracks __ Lorn - Alt.Vel.Ptch Lorn - Shelter Trevor Morris - Vlad Searches for Lisa Kevin Riepl - 14 years after E-Day Movies / TV shows shown in this video __ Aviator 2001 - A Space Oddyssey Goodfellas Requiem for a Dream Black Mirror Fight Club Tokyo!
