ACONCAGUA: The LOST PS1 CLASSIC THAT COULD NOT BE TRANSLATED #AconcaguaGame #PlayStation #AconcaguaReview As we’re going to explore in this video, the game we’re talking about in today’s video is indeed the ultimate “lost in translation” experience – from the history and circumstances surrounding the game itself, all the way down to the ludic systems that govern the moment-to-moment gameplay. It was firmly intended to be the final, console-defining, large-scale international PlayStation 1 blockbuster before it gave way to the PS2 – but in the last moment, Sony Interactive cut the game’s marketing budget and scrubbed its international release, condemning it to a small, domestic-only launch in Japan and due to its convoluted code, it became known as a game that was impossible to translate even by the most dedicated fan-translators/rom-hackers. Until just recently. We’ll get to all of this and more over the course of this video! All of this made it a game that, among retro gaming enthusiasts, became more fabled and mist-shrouded than the real-world mountain which originated its title: Aconcagua. **Support the Channel** http://patreon.com/RagnarRoxShow Hilltop’s YouTube Channel: https://www.youtube.com/@hilltopworks Conquering the Mountain: How Aconcagua was Finally translated https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Nwh-b6AUY5I Hilltop’s Aconcagua English Language Patch: https://www.patreon.com/posts/68930991 Chapters __ Script: Michael Saba, Ragnar Ulricson Captions (en): Mira Cox, Ragnar Ulricson __ Footage Credits: Brazil's Video Game Gray Markets | ClothMap https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MU29Wqg_BVo Bahamut Lagoon (SNES) Gameplay Footage | Nintendo Life https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=N_o0FwQ9le0 Treasure Hunter G - Longplay [SNES] | Kryschnack Longplay https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VvYCKto1WbI SNES Longplay [302] Alcahest (Fan Translation) | World of Longplays Played by: xRavenXP https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NL43Astjdbk Front Mission: Gun Hazard Video Walkthrough 1/3 | SaikyoMog https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bmhVu-2zoCY Racing Lagoon (PS1) Playthrough [1 of 2] English - NintendoComplete https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NWsk4GDiFtY Let's Play Mizzurna Falls- Part 1: Prologue | iconoclast187 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1z17T0plEw4 Iblard Laputa no Kaeru Machi - Longplay pt 1( イバラード ラピュタの孵る街) | Dylan Schneider https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8g5RLjdxd6I PlayStation - Kaze no Notam (1997) | The VideoGame Museum https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yQN3ZgW8hLg Kowai Shashin (English Patched) Playstation Longplay - (No Commentary) | ZackNSlash https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UPO1abrfD6s LSD: Dream Emulator [No Commentary] [1] | Takoto https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=d5QhUDtgtg0 Planet Laika PS1 Fan-translation Pt 1 | CaptainUsopp2006 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vR4pYvAhp9s PSX Longplay [154] Spyro the Dragon | World of Longplays Played by: NPI https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_nhDtDBmZLQ Disaster Report (PS2) - Full Game Walkthrough [SOS: The Final Escape / Zettai Zetsumei Toshi] | NeoGamer - The Video Game Archive https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ncc4772ESkA PSX Longplay Resident Evil - Chris | World of Longplays Played by: ULTIMA https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ArlQ91tX2JU Aconcagua (PSX) - Partial Playthrough | The1Nostalgic https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_clm9Zmt02M https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OquKMnTlo04
