We’re flying a Jaguar across Argentina to help protect the species. 🌱 Join us to rewild the planet: https://planetwild.com/join/m42 Every year, tens of thousands of wild animals get moved across the world for conservation. Argentina has only 200 to 250 jaguars left, split into small, isolated groups. This shrinks their gene pool, and over generations, raises the risk of disease and can eventually wipe out a population entirely. That’s why in our 42nd mission, we partnered with Rewilding Argentina to move Mimbi, a young female jaguar, across Argentina, to a region where introducing new genes is critical to saving the local jaguar population from inbreeding and extinction. This translocation is part of a bigger plan: connecting isolated jaguar populations by creating a safe, continuous corridor in the South American region, so jaguars can move and mix on their own again. People in the video: Trishala Naidu is a South African biologist with 10 years of experience. She’s been hosting Planet Wild missions since 2024. Guadalupe Molinaro is Rewilding Argentina's Community Program Coordinator at El Impenetrable National Park. Pablo is Rewilding Argentina's Reintroduction Center Coordinator at Iberá Park and a wildlife conservation field technician. See the intense 15-hour race against the clock. This video documents the complex logistics required for wildlife transport as conservationists attempt to reintroduce a jaguar into its new habitat. We follow the operation from the initial crate transfer to the final release, highlighting the strict timing and planning necessary for such a delicate animal relocation. Transporting a predator like Mimbi is a massive conservation project that involves navigating multiple transit stages, including trucks and aircraft. When the mission hits unexpected complications, the team must adapt quickly to ensure the safety of this majestic endangered species. This footage provides an unfiltered look at the reality of wildlife logistics when a plan goes wrong. Subscribe for weekly wildlife conservation breakdowns, and comment below what you think is the biggest challenge in animal relocation. _______________________ What is Planet Wild?
