Melting down 100 cans of Red Bull into just 1
**This video was originally meant to be a NileBlue short where we had to remove a lot in the edit to chop it down. We extended it a bit here, but a lot of people have been pointing things out in the comments, and we regret not including more info in this version.
For example, in order to print the can hollow we had to make drain holes, which meant that we had to plug them before putting the plaster in. This in turn made us afraid about degassing it though, because we didn't do an amazing job plugging it and we were afraid the plugs would come out. However, more importantly, we also started getting really scared that the 3D print itself (which was thin walled and filled with air) could pop under a full vacuum. So we degassed it without pulling a full vacuum and resorted to shaking it around a lot, which I think worked.
Overall, I think our biggest issue by far, was that we completely forgot everything we learned about aluminum. We completely overheated it and made no effort to degas it.
So today, we're going to melt down 100 cans of Red Bull into just one solid Red Bull can.
