Mesh2Motion is an awesome free & open source animation tool... basically it's an open source version of Adobe Mixamo. Even better, Mesh2Motion continues to get new features including the ability to animate 4 legged animals, birds, dragons, snakes and even kaiju! Best of all, it's also incredibly easy to use as you can see from this video tutorial.
