The awesome and *FREE open source Substance Alternative ArmorPaint just hit a major milestone -- the 1.0 release! In this video we take a look at how ArmorPaint can be used to create materials and paint/texture 3D models. ArmorPaint is cheap, at a $19 pricetag, and available on Windows, Mac and Linux. However if you are willing to build it from source code you can get it completely free. Later in this video we also showcase how to build ArmorPaint from source code in 2026, using Visual Studio.
