This Month in North Korea | April 2026
Taking a look back through DPRK media and covering the headlines and top stories from around the country during April 2026.
This month, the DPRK saw two significant national holidays, with celebrations surrounding the Day of the Sun (15 April) and Military Foundation Day (25 April). In addition, visits by Belorussian President Lukashenko in late March and Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi on the 9th of April made the past 4 weeks a significant period for diplomacy and international affairs.
Throughout the month, events were held celebrating the anti-Japanese struggle as the country gathered to celebrate both the founding of the guerilla army, and the birth of their leader.
