Listening to a Giant Mushroom & Woodland Bio-Signals | Deciduous Woodland (53° N)
In this video recorded in deciduous woodland at 53° N, we used bio-sensors to translate the electrical activity of local plants and fungi into music.
Species featured:
• Dryad's Saddle / Schuppiger Porling (Polyporus squamosus)
• Hazel / Haselnuss (Corylus avellana)
• Ivy / Efeu (Hedera helix)
This video was specially commissioned for the upcoming exhibition "Klimaoasen" (Climate Oases) at the Landesmuseum Natur und Mensch Oldenburg in Germany. The exhibition explores the systemic relationships between nature, people, climate, health and urban development.
Location: Deciduous Woodland, Latitude 53° N, just south of Manchester.
