The Silicon Valley Intro Turned $10,000 Into $114,000
Chapters
Every real company in the Silicon Valley intro, run as an index fund: $1,000 in each of the 41 companies in HBO's opening credits, tracked from 2014 to today. We tag all 65 logos across eight versions of the intro, then build the fund seven ways, from a pure thought experiment to a brokerage account and a market-cap weighted ETF, and compare each one against the S&P 500 and the Nasdaq-100. Along the way: Coinbase's 26% day, Reddit at $6.26 a share, Theranos going to zero, and the Nvidia logo that never made the credits.
