Lovebirds, rather than being a romantic ballet, focuses on vulnerability and the search for one’s own identity in a state of permanent tension. The entire choreography unfolds through contrasts – between the inner restlessness of the music by Bohuslav Martinů and the raw emotional openness of James Brown.
