Happy Valentines Day!
Instead of a ballad or a love song I wanted to do something a little more special. I never expected I'd have the balls to tackle a Shawn Lane song but I'm kind of in Yes Man mode. Transcribing this man is like an extreme sport. He was and always will be the cleanest, fastest guitar player ever. I had his Power Licks VHS and for the initial good while, I'd just watch it. No reading the booklet, no guitar in hand, just sat and watched. He understood the form of a solo. Started with something, went somewhere cool, back to that something then by the end took it to the stratosphere. I've taken that concept since then (2003) and tried to incorporate that in my own playing/writing. I included his performance on this song after mine because it's 1000% worth the watch. He definitely had a bigger finger span than I do so there are some phrases that I had no other choice but to play in a different position. Hope you enjoy
