Children of Bodom - 'Downfall' (solo cover)

Hi all! A couple weeks ago, me and my pal Gabriel Guardian covered some Sinergy over on IG for Alexi's birthday. I was still in the zone so decided to give Downfall a proper go as well. Hatebreeder is such a great reminder of when I first discovered Bodom. Had a buddy who loved burning CDs and sharing his discoveries. Bodom and Sinergy were religious experiences. I love the great debate on which song is supreme on Hatebreeder. Downfall is a popular choice. The intro alone is magic. Fast forward to 2012, I covered 'Somebody That I Used To Know'. It was everywhere. I always enjoyed throwing in some metal riffs that I loved into pop covers if I decided that they could fit. Downfall was my choice there. Little did I plan for and to my surprise that Gotye would compile many of the popular covers floating around and remixed them to what he called "Somebodies That I Used To Know". Cherry on top - instead of using the melody from his own song that I played in my video, he used the Downfall riff. It was great. I included it at the end of this video just as a little bonus if you haven't seen it. But now my question is did he just like that part or is he a Bodom fan and knew what it was? Either way, big ups.
