Rise of the Planet of the Apes is the first live-action film to have a photo-realistic digital character as the emotional centre of the film. Successfully bringing apes with intelligence and emotional resonance to the screen carved out a new standard – starting a new era in the realistic animation of non-human lead characters.
Our work on Rise of the Planet of the Apes won the Annie Award for Character Animation in Live Action Production, the Academy Award nomination for Best Achievement in Visual Effects, and the BAFTA Award nomination for Best Special Visual Effects.
