Check them out here - https://partner.ekster.com/wanderingturnip In this video, I visit the Bay of Morecambe—a place that, in 2004, became the site of a devastating tragedy. Twenty-three migrant workers from China lost their lives while harvesting cockles, drowning in the treacherous waters. This event deeply impacted me as a child and has stayed with me ever since. There were aspects of the story I struggled to comprehend, and I’ve always felt compelled to visit the area—to witness the vastness of the bay, understand its dangers, and pay my respects. The landscape is extraordinary and unsettling. The tide recedes and returns with startling speed, making it clear how perilous it would be to venture out there. The fact that these workers were out at night only adds to the horror of their plight. Using my drone, I was able to capture the bay’s immense and otherworldly expanse, finally grasping the environment where this tragedy unfolded. The story uncovered extensive gang operations and human trafficking networks, ultimately leading to significant changes in laws and regulations to prevent such tragedies in the future Until nex time, W.T #shocking #seaside #tragedy
