Tripods give you stability. Handheld gives you freedom. But what if you could get a little bit of both?
In this video, we take the SmallRig TRIBEX PRO Monopod on a real-world cinematic shoot to find out where a monopod actually fits into a filmmaker's kit.
I've never seriously filmed with a monopod before, so instead of testing it in a studio, we took it through an entire day of filming. Shooting in the city, on a bridge, through trails, with long lenses, moving shots, low-angle shots, and even a fully built-out cinema camera.
Along the way, we'll test the X-Clutch system, fluid video head, portability, stability, quick height adjustments, and some of the real limitations compared to shooting handheld or using a traditional tripod.
And at the end, you'll see the finished cinematic film we created during the shoot.
