Lyrics:
I’ve come far just to find you
But you never really answer
When I’m praying just for one taste
Of a mind with no worries
All my days I’m wishing life away
Because my payment day is always time away
All my days I’m wishing life away
Because payment day is always time away.
Don’t beat us up for wanting the money
Cos having the money, Is freedom
Don’t beat us up for needing the money
Nobody makes music if all they want is money
I’m in the shade of that money tree
But none of these leaves ever fall on me
I’d even see the funny side if the tree dried up and died on me
Don’t start making this hard on me
Don’t attack me personally
Yo making music it ain’t easy
And you will find me in that tree
Reaching for the roots, stability
And I don’t care fir you can see
Me stealing the stems of that money tree
Don’t beat us up for wanting the money
Cos having the money, Is freedom
Don’t beat us up for needing the money
Nobody makes music if all they want is money
I’m bound and worthless
Inbound to take me down
I’m bound and worthless
Inbound to take me down
Yo my time is money so get the hell fuck outta my way
Yo my time is money so get the hell fuck outta my way
Yo my time is money so get the hell fuck outta my way
Yo my time is money so get the hell fuck outta my way
Yo I’ll pray for you
As you pray for me
And we go through life
In this fantasy
