In the late 1960s, France and the UK built four brand new hoverports - designed to accommodate the legendary SRN4 cross-channel hovercraft. Today, only one of the four hoverport terminals is still standing. And I decided it's about time I went to explore it. With special guest star Geoff Marshall: https://www.youtube.com/@geofftech2 Thank you to the friendly staff at Le Terminal, who grew up locally and were very happy to chat to us about the hoverport and its history: https://www.facebook.com/p/Le-Terminal-61575871754639/ RECOMMENDED FURTHER VIEWING AND READING - My video on "The Last Surviving Giant Hovercraft" : www.youtube.com/watch?v=x5jmrW1HvMQ - "What Happened To Giant Hovercraft" by @MustardChannel: www.youtube.com/watch?v=HnJLT8wFyhY - "What happened to Britain’s great transport experiment?" by @osullivanluke - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=y70wpa4wxIs A detailled history of Boulogne Hoverport, with photos from 2005 (this website is great btw, it also covers the other three cross-channel hoverports) - https://www.hhvferry.com/hoverports_boulogne.html Meanwhile, if you want to know what Geoff was doing in France... he was filming a members-only video for his channel, which you can see here (if you are a channel member): https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_fSmlP8Xc88
