In 2003, the Dubai government embarked on one of the most insane megaprojects imaginable - create man-made islands in the ocean, shaped of the world's countries. It was supposed to be a short boat ride from Dubai, but today, more than 20 years after construction began, more than 90% of the man-made islands sit completed abandoned.
