What's in a name? Quite a lot actually! I tell the stories behind six of the most interesting animal species names from the misconceptions around apes and monkeys to the downright bizarre Beyonce horsefly. I'm back in the shed for Shed Science (or am I...)! Many people have been debating the use of the words 'ape' and 'monkey' in the comments. I've finally made a blog post in response to these comments here: http://sallylepage.co.uk/blog/ Credit goes to this blog post for inspiring many of the funny species names in the last part: http://www.buzzfeed.com/babymantis/the-best-taxonomy-humor-1opu My website: http://sallylepage.co.uk/ My twitter: http://twitter.com/sallylepage/ And yes, I do know that I said 16 species of gibbon when there are actually 17. How will you ever forgive me!
