The Praga team heads to the US! Mark Harrison (Sales and Marketing Director for Praga Cars), Jan Martinek (Praga Chief Engineer) and Ben Collins (Praga test driver) make a special visit to Atlanta, Georgia, the home of the new, official Praga dealership, Praga Racing USA. Here we meet Shane Anderson, CEO, who purchased his first R1 in 2022 without viewing or testing one, and now manages sales and aftersales services for new and existing R1s for the whole of the US. Shane’s passion for the Praga brand and experience of running and maintain R1s will see him grow the existing network of Praga owners in the US, already the biggest market for the car, where he has immediately made an impact with sales to new customers in Georgia to Florida to Washington State. Now in its 5th Generation, the R1 is a single-seater race car powered by a 2-litre turbocharged engine built by the specialist racing division at Alpine Renault producing 365bhp with bespoke engineered parts by Praga. The R1’s lightweight design weighing just 643kg (1418lbs) combined with its advanced aerodynamic package enables drivers to experience up to 3G of lateral force in corners, all within the safety of a proven, full carbon fibre monocoque from a brand with over 115 years of automotive manufacturing and engineering heritage.
