Sky Defense is a card-based roguelike tower defense game. You start each run by picking a build unlocked through achievements, preparing your deck, and dropping your town hall onto a procedurally generated island.
The game relies entirely on cards. You drop building cards onto the grid using resources like wood, stone, and food. Production structures generate resources between rounds, shooters fire from a distance, and unit spawners place melee defenders to hold the line. Spells work either instantly when played from your hand or passively as long as you hold onto them. Between combat rounds, you visit the shop to buy new cards, merge duplicates in the blacksmith for higher rarities, or invest in run-wide skill tree upgrades.
Each island consists of 10 enemy waves. Wave 5 drops a mini-boss, and wave 10 brings a final boss. Beat the boss, keep your earnings, upgrade your deck, and push into the next territory until the town hall falls.
