A Tascam (TEAC) CD-A500 that came in for the complaint of "Display Issue" The customer did replace a couple of capacitors and a diode in the VFD (Vacuum Fluorescent Display) circuit. I found a shorted transistor and the diode he installed was a regular rectifier when it should have been a 24v Zener diode. All is good now and the power supply does regulate.
