Knife Crime Awareness: The Biggest Mistake That Costs Lives Knife crime is not a game. One wrong decision can cost a life. Knife crime is a serious public safety issue in the UK and around the world. In England and Wales, police-recorded knife-enabled crime fell by 10% in the year ending December 2025, down to 49,151 offences. That is a drop, but the danger is still real. Every number is a person, a family, a street, a school, a shop, and a community. In this video, I break down the #1 mistake people make during a knife confrontation: letting ego take over. When someone has a knife or weapon, your first job is not to prove you are tough. Your first job is to stay alive. Your phone, wallet, bag, jacket, or pride can be replaced. Your life cannot. In this video, you will learn: The Ego Trap Why trying to be a “hero”, arguing, squaring up, or relying on fancy techniques can fail under real-world stress. TPM: Time, Place, Method How to read the situation before danger fully develops by understanding when, where, and how a threat may appear. The OODA Loop A professional decision-making framework: Observe, Orient, Decide, Act. This helps you think under pressure instead of freezing or reacting with ego. The Ultimate Survival Priority Why is creating distance, finding an exit, escaping when safe, and calling 999 more powerful than trying to fight a weapon? Remember the survival priorities: Create distance. Move toward safety. Escape if you can. Call 999 when safe. If someone is badly bleeding, call 999 and apply pressure if it is safe to help. This video is for public awareness and education only. It is not about teaching people to fight with a knife or fight against a knife. The safest option is always prevention, awareness, distance, escape, and getting help. Public Safety Campaign My mission is to raise awareness about the dangers of knife crime and provide people with practical, reality-based safety skills. No matter where you are in the UK or around the world, your safety is your responsibility.
